We experience the elements of nature and the forces of the earth with our senses. Rain, wind, storm, stillness, majestic earth… impinge in ways we once knew but have forgotten. A Texas native, I am awed by the majestic, powerful, occasionally terrifying, never boring aspects of its natural, ages-old forces. My current work expresses in oil my senses’ abstract memories of their touch. The feel of wind on skin. The awe of a tornado cloud. A still hot day. A towering canyon. Dust storms. The clash of the creative and destructive. All of this inspires me to capture in oil on canvas these memories and invite the viewer to share them with me.
